The answer to this question hurts...

Why aren’t writing camps... like camp?

Well, writing camps usually fall into 2 categories:

1) Industry hunger games
2) Grifters preying on hope

There ARE exceptions, but it can feel bleak.

Even the camps with good intentions often devolve into “educational” investments, framed as community, and wrapped in a veneer of potential virality or financial moonshots… not exactly a framework for writing great songs, much less attracting great songwriters.

So, we embraced the mantra, “Inputs over Output,” and built Summer Camp: a destination for world-class songwriters.

This is an immersive experience

Family recipes. The Milky Way from the boat dock. Bunk beds on a screen porch. Arts & crafts.

No sync briefs. No industry pressure. No haggling for points. No content hooks. No meme songs.

Hot take: If you’re making art to get something from an audience, you’re no longer making art… You’re making a product.

Summer Camp is a return to making art from a personal place, like when we started writing as kids.

And, to no surprise, setting artists free from the industry pressure-cooker produces amazing songs.

But don’t take our word for it. Look below :)

After a long week of songwriting in groups of 3, we play all of the songs we wrote and vote on our favorites :)
